Construction of the Throttle Car Club, a two-story building located in Scarborough, Maine, in the United States. This private Club includes indoor rental parking for 20,000 classic cars, office space, a showroom, a bar and a reception room for members. A garage, including all the necessary tools, is also available for users to do work on their cars.
A major design challenge
It was a major challenge for Canam’s engineers to design this building with 61 windows and to find locations for the bracing. This large number of windows was also a challenge.
In addition, Murox prefabricated load-bearing wall panels included metal cladding in a variety of colors, making them more complex to fabricate. The architectural design of this building, with its many flashing details and colors, required very careful detailing by Canam engineers.
Area: Murox panels: 15,989 ft.2 (1,485.4 m2)
