Canam Buildings services were selected for the supply of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum’s steel structure.
The Point of Rocks, Maryland plant fabricated the steel components for this restoration facility connected to the main National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, which is the second most popular aviation museum in the country.
Six million people visit the museum each year. The restoration facility, which opens in 2010, includes a viewing gallery so that visitors can observe the historic aircraft in the restoration process.
Canam Buildings supplied mid-span and long-span joists and bridgings.
