Canam’s services were selected to supply the steel structure of the Saint-Jérôme Theater, the Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault. This 875-seat theater, located in the heart of the future Arts and Knowledge District near the Place de la gare, features state-of-the-art equipment and integrated mechanical systems for enhanced energetic and acoustic performance.
This project required the coordination of several dozens of assemblies designed by Canam, between the steel joists and the other parts of the steel structure attached to them, including:
All of these challenges have been increased in term of the design of the steel structure by the angular configuration of the building. This aspect probably helped to make this building the choice of the jury at the 19th CISC Awards of Excellence Gala, because of the various technical points resulting from it which had to be considered for the project to run smoothly. As a result, the majority of joists on this project are unique.
For this project, we provided joists and steel deck.
