Canam’s services were selected for the supply and installation of the entire building envelope of the Saint-Gédéon-de-Beauce municipal garage used for the maintenance and storage of municipal vehicles.
This municipal garage benefits from ventilated thermal panel (VTP) technology developed by Canam and installed on the south-facing facade of the building. The VTP wall captures solar energy to preheat outside air as a means of saving energy.
By combining highly energy-efficient systems, this building achieves an energy savings of 60%, compared to a building without these features. Also integrated into the building are a high performance lighting system and a radiant heating system using geothermal technology.
For this project, Canam supplied Murox shop-assembled load-bearing wall panels and ventilated thermal panels (VTP).
Area: 6,000 ft2 (557 m2).
