Massport Green Bus Depot

Description

Construction of the Massport Green Bus Depot located in Boston, Massachusetts, used for the Boston Logan International Airport bus fleet operations.

The facility consists of four interconnected buildings: administrative offices, a bus wash/maintenance bay, and a garage divided into two sections.

Features

The bus storage has two distinct sections, a covered one (without doors) and the other one completely closed (with doors). The joists of the open section had to be entirely galvanized to protect against corrosion and bad weather.

The Murox wall panels are made with Stelcolour Barrier Series metal cladding, interior and exterior. This cladding is highly resistant to corrosion and other contaminants.

The Massport Green Bus Depot was certified LEED-Silver in 2014 by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Canam supplied 281 tons of steel components (joists, steel deck, steel structure) and 210 Murox wall panels for this project.
