Description

Canam’s Murox building system using the design-build approach was chosen following a call for tenders by the municipality of Lac-Mégantic to rebuild its first commercial buildings located downtown. There are four buildings which will be distributed on each side of the projected Papineau Street, near the new sports center. Each building will relocate five to six shops. The project was realized in four weeks.

Canam provided Murox prefabricated load-bearing wall panels as well as conventional steel structure such as joists, structural components and steel deck. The load-bearing walls were delivered with an outer coating of galvanized steel allowing to be covered later with other finishing material.

Area: 48,000 ft2 (4,459 m2) for the four buildings.
