Canam’s services were selected for the supply of open-web steel joists and Reveal Series architectural steel metal deck as part of the main and auxiliary gymnasiums for the Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School located in Calgary, Alberta.

This project is LEED Silver certified.

This new 174,600 ft² (16,221 m²) three-storey high school has been constructed with 13,200 ft² (1,225 m²) of the Reveal Series architectural deck for the gymnasiums’ acoustic roof and composite acoustic floor applications. The acoustic properties of the Reveal Series minimizes the sound, an important aspect for both school gymnasiums. As the ceiling is visible, the primed Reveal Series deck was painted white to give it an aesthetic look and to prevent corrosion.

The Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School design balances dynamic open learning spaces as well as strong visual connectivity with the more functional and traditional teaching space configuration.
