Construction of 4th Avenue at Northwest Park Apartments in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA, a five-storey multi-residential building comprising 168 units.

On the first floor, 169 covered parking spaces are available, while on the second floor, two large outdoor terraces with barbecues, fireplaces, a covered metal pergola and garden furniture are available to residents. The building also includes a bike room, games room, lounge with fireplace and private event space.

Meeting the schedule

Due to a delay in the project, caused by the late completion of the concrete work in the early phases of the construction, Canam was asked to speed up the originally agreed erection schedule. A second crane and manpower was added to successfully meet the aggressive deadline.

The benefits of a structural building system

The structural building system helped to keep the project on schedule by having expertise and multiple trades under Canam’s umbrella.

Area: 17,337 m2 (186,610 ft.2)

Hambro complete structural building system consisting of:

  • Hambro D500 composite floor system
  • Load-bearing steel stud wall panels
  • Permanent steel forming system for concrete shear walls, elevators and stairwell shafts
  • Open-web steel joists and steel deck
  • Cantilevered precast balconies

  • Design-build
  • Erection of the complete steel structure
